Hired a new "dog nanny" (someone to stay at the house w/my dogs) this afternoon, and so started thinking about "needing" to book a trip so that the new person could actually stay (and earn some money) w/my dogs. So, "knowing" I would find no availability, or budget-busting air fares, or anyone who could go with me, or some kind of work obligation that would kill the idea, I nevertheless decided to look into a quick jaunt to WDW...
First, my AP expires 6/22 ...so I thought maybe I could sneak in one more trip on this AP...
Second, had to check work and son schedules--that resulted in a "window" when I could go between 6/12 and 6/18--
Of course, on 5/19 availability between 6/12 and 6/18 is going to be seriously limited, if there's any at all...but worth looking, right? Voila--SSR had a studio, for the whole time! ...
Third, time to check air fares...mmmm, a $220 flight is available...what the heck, let's look at frequent flyer availability, just for grins...shockingly, I could (and did) use frequent flyer miles for both the flight there and the flight back...
Fourth, check the Disney Rewards Dollars account--enough there to feed me (easily) for five days!
So...for the $30 frequent flyer booking fee and the cost of the "dog nanny," if I'm willing to try a solo trip, I can go to Disney for five nights & six days!
I booked it!
I excitedly told this tale of "stars aligning" to one of my Disney friends, whose immediate reaction was "can I come too?"...so, looks like I'll have a Disney buddy for the trip, too!
Cannot begin to say how excited I am...whodda thunk all these variables could come together on such short notice! I mean, it's literally (for me, anyway) a $30 Disney trip! On 3 1/2 weeks' notice!
I think it was meant to be!!!!
Thanks for letting me share my excitement...
