When the Magic Kingdom closes does Mickey stand & waive good bye to everyone?

A couple of times in the evening when my family & I would be Resort hopping to the Polynesian & Grand Floridian we noticed that before arriving back at the Contemporary, Mickey Mouse was waiving good bye to all the guests leaving the Magic Kingdom. I was wondering how often does this happen?

It is my understanding that this happens most nice. I assume it doesn't happen if it rains. They also do the Goodnight kiss an hour aftyer closing. We have not done this but hear it is very special.

does anyone know where this is in the park? ( Goodbye from mickey Too. )

I believe you can see it by the Partners statue in front of the castle. The Goodbye from Mickey is on the side of the train station by the entry gates.

I've never heard or seen either of these things. Who and what is involved in the Goodnight kiss? It sounds great. Everytime I have left MK I have never seen Mickey waving. Why have I missed out? Is there a particular time to see this?

Here is a link to a recent thread about the Kiss Goodnight and it also talks about Mickey waving good bye. It has links to video of the Kiss and other great info...As for Mickey, he is not out there all the time, there are a bunch of different variables with that one...but the Kiss Goodnight is done everynight.

Twice when I was there in May '05 I saw Mickey wave and kiss goodnight, just as someone else said, up high on the train platform, so that if you're leaving (facing Seven Seas Lagoon) you can see him if you turn around 180 degrees.

There is also a coordinated voice-over with Mickey's voice that repeats every now and then, maybe something like every 30 seconds, or maybe 2 minutes, I don't recall exactly.

I have seen Mickey waving goodbye but not The Kiss, hope to see it in August! :thumbsup2

In August, 1996, I got a goodnight kiss from Mickey and Minnie!! I know that that was 10 years ago, but I still think it counts!

This is one of those memories that still brings tears to my eyes.... 2 years ago, on the last night of our trip, we left MK after closing. Mickey was standing on the platform of the train station waving, saying goodnight, and saying "It won't be magical without you!". I do believe he misses us when we're not there.

Oh my Gosh!
The last night of our first trip as a family to WDW, we experienced this...I looked up and there was Mickey, waving & saying all that stuff. I cried and cried (I am an A+ sap!) and praying that it wouldn't be our only trip!!! Yay! We are going back this year!!!!

Just thinking about this gives me chills. We were leaving MK on our last night of vacation in April and my oldes DS (6 at the time) pulled on my arm to stop me and said, "Mom, look, Mickey is waving good bye to us". This was, without a doubt, my most magical night at WDW.
