When the deals for packages come out.....

how do we know beforehand which resorts will be available. Last year when the 4for3 came out, we were booked at the Poly (for Jan) and the CM told me that resort was unavailable. I then expressed my concern that we wouldn't be able to do the Poly without the discount. She put me on hold, spoke with someone, & came back to say she had managed to get the deal for us anyway. I am planning on doing the CR theme park view for our next trip--will I have to worry about not getting any discounts that come out for that time again? Are Deluxe resorts usually not included? Any advice would be welcomed!!!!

No, the deluxe resorts are usually included in promotions. They usually only have a certain amount of rooms allocated to each promotion and the Poly (since it's very popular) was probably booked already. I would book the reservation at the resort you want and then keep on top of any promotions you hear about and also try calling them every few days/weeks and specifically ask about discounts for the time your traveling. If there is an applicable discount for you they will apply it to your current reservations.
I just booked a room at the Bay Lake Towers at the CR for December under a 40% discount after a few CM's told me there weren't any discounts out yet for that time. Go figure!

so, did you know the code was out before the ressie, or did you make the ressie and then they tacked the discount on afterward? If I could get Bay Lake Tower instead, i would rather that!! The idea of a w&d is absolute heaven for me!!!!!! I always do one whole evening of There are 5 of us and there is just no way around it--either that or pack every item of clothes they have and haul it all home dirty!!!!

We're annual passholders so I knew they come out with passholder room rates periodically. I also knew (from the DIS boards) that they were sending out 40% pin codes to select passholders, so I knew the discounts were out there. I called a few times and each CM told me that the passholder rates for December weren't out yet and that there were no 40% discounts available. Finally, after my 10th call (I wasn't giving up ), a very nice CM said she could give me the BLT for 40% off.
However, in the past, I've booked a resort under a AAA room only discount and waited until they came out with a better deal (30 or 40% off or a passholder room rate) and they always just changed my reservation to reflect the new discount.

We're getting a studio at BLT (there's only 3 of us) but those 1 & 2 bedrooms with the W/D look gorgeous!

I love the look of those rooms!! I can't wait til they open and we can get some pictures from the actual rooms people are staying in!!!
