For folks waiting for a vaccine... nothing is guaranteed.

They’ve been looking for a HIV vaccine for 40 years.
So true. Look, we have a vaccine for the seasonal flu. Some years it's 60-70% effective, other years it's more like 30% effective. Viruses mutate rapidly. By the time they produce, distribute, and administer the vaccine, the strain of virus circulating could have changed.

It's a better shot that they'll find some medication that is worthwhile at treating the disease, as we have with Tamiflu and Xofluza for the flu or the numerous antivirals that we have for HIV.

Will you not go if a mask is required?

Honestly, probably not. I can't see myself walking all around property wearing a mask. Not only do I hate wearing it, but a sea of people wearing masks down Main Street, USA is a tad too much "real world" for me.

Now if it was something like you only need to wear a mask when in a queue or something more specific, then yeah I'd probably do it.

A couple of things about wearing a mask at WDW would bother me. For one, much of the year it's as hot as the sun there. Having my face covered all day in that weather sounds horrible. The other, which is partly related, is that I do my best to drink water frequently throughout the day. Tough to do with a mask on. I have that problem at work now. The rule is we are supposed to wear a mask from the moment we arrive until the moment we leave except for meal time. But I drink water all day long and because we don't actually get meal breaks, I tend to eat throughout the day whenever I have a moment. So my mask is off much of the time I'm there.

As someone who drinks bottles and bottles of water a day, I greatly empathize.
