When staying offsite do you visit the Disney Resorts?

Always! We take the monorail ones and have dinner! Last time we plan on eating at the Coronado Springs's Maya Grill but we had to cancel, but this december we will go there!

Sometimes. One time we went to Art of Animation and took the drawing class in the lobby. We checked out the scenery and ate at the quick service. Eating there was kind of disaster. It was sooooooooo slow. We won't eat there again.

We like to check out the holiday decorations at the delux resorts.

Basically, whether I am staying on-site or off-site, I visit WDW resorts I am not staying at based on if there is something specific I want to do. Most of the time it is for a reservation and since I like to try different ones, I do not really go to one specific resort to visit.

Reasons I have visited these resorts when not staying there:
  • GF: 1900 Park Fare Breakfast; I have also just monorail hopped and visited shops
  • Poly: Ohana Breakfast; I have also just monorail hopped and visited shops
  • Contemporary: In the 1990's they had a great arcade area and we spent time there and at at the food court. Since then, it has basically just been a cut through to
  • WL: Whispering Canyon Cafe Breakfast; Various visits when at FW while just out walking to check out the grounds
  • Beach Club: Cape May breakfast and then explored a bit; Beaches & Cream lunch
  • Boardwalk: Bakery, shops, Dinner
  • Saratoga Springs: Turf Club dinner and enjoyed view as we drove to the restaurant
Place I want to visit:
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge: I want to try Boma and check out the animal viewing areas
  • Port Orleans: I want to try check it out to see if I would like to stay at either resort and it might be fun to see Yehaa Bob
Stayed, but would visit if not staying there
  • Fort Wilderness: I could probably spend 1-3 hours here. Rent a bicycle and ride around or eat at Trails End or HDDR. See the sing-a-long and movie. Maybe do the horseback riding.

Absolutely! We always do the monorail resorts. At Poly, we may have dinner at Captain Cook's and a drink at Trader Sam's. Or go in the morning and rent a boat there. We like the shops at Contemporary and just visiting the Grand Floridian. Sometimes we'll have dinner at Beaches and Cream and spend time strolling around the lake visiting Yacht Club and Boardwalk. We rarely go to the moderates. We may go to Art of Animation for lunch or dinner as they have a great food court. We don't get to Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge often but we do occasionally.

Really, at some point, we hit them all for one reason or another.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at Landscape of Flavors. Many people consider that one of the best quick serve locations on property. We really like it there. I'm not sure what happened when you visited but you might consider giving them another chance some time.

Last year we had a reservation at Ohana and explored the resort after. This trip coming up we have a reservation at Sanaa and then we plan to go to POFQ for gluten free beignets.
We've also visited area restaurants off property and some stores and the outlets.

Yes. Every third or fourth visit to Epcot we will wander over to the Boardwalk. We made many trips to the BWI before moving offsite so it is nice to go back and visit our favorite resort. Especially during the holidays. We will also make a point to visit the GF during a holiday visit to the MK.

And if you have never been it is worth a trip to the Animal Kingdom Lodge just to wander around and enjoy the theming and the animal viewing areas.

We go at Christmas and always visit the other resorts. If you time it right, you can be on the monorail while the fireworks are going off. It's a good arrival day thing to do.

Yep. I hit the AKL, BWI, and monorail resorts every trip and some additional resorts depending on the time of year, where I'm eating, and what I'm down there for in addition to the parks.

We took a carriage ride at Port Orleans and then had dinner at Boatwright's. A very nice evening!
