Back from sailing the Dream 11-14 and 14-18 December.
For the evening of the 17th they adjusted the dining times back by 15 minutes (so late dinner was at 8 instead of 815) and used both theatres to do multiple showings of the movie:
7 pm (for the early dining people)
10 pm (for the late dining people)
1245 am (for anyone)
545 am (for anyone)
They assured everyone multiple times in the days leading up to the 17th and again on the 17th that everyone would be able to see the movie.
As we had late dinner, we went to the 10 pm 3D showing in the Walt Disney theater and there were actually some empty seats once the movie started. The 7 pm showing in the Buena Vista theater had a sign on the door saying it was at capacity, but I did not notice a similar sign at the WD theater. The CMs used light sabres to direct people to seats
The ship also had a limited release pin and t-shirt for the movie, and a variety of Star Wars themed merchandise, from postcards to clothing to mugs to purses, etc etc etc. Also, on the 17th Preludes replaced their normal "display" with a whole bunch of SW-themed popcorn and drink containers. The displays looked pretty neat when finished. And since I had watched them set them up, I have to say I was impressed with how quickly they did the change-over !
