When should we try to rent points for May 07?

Hi,
We are thinking about renting points for May 2007 at WLV. When should we start looking in to this. How do we know what is a reasonable price? I'm so new to this. We normally just stay in a deluxe resort, but with ond ds that's autistic, I think a 1 bedroom would be great for him to relax in, plus with a kitchen for his usual meals. So, when should we try to start looking for points for May 07?

Wow! I'm glad I asked. DH was thinking I'm jumping the gun. I definitely better start my research. Once I make a decision, then I just post over on the rent/trade board, right?

If you rent points from someone who's home is WL the points can be booked 11 months from the departure date. If it is not their home resort the points can be booked 7 months from the departure date. Usually people charge $10 per point.

IMHO, you don't need to be in any hurry - May at the VWL will not fill up before the 7 month window opens.

Since most owners consider renting to be a non-refundable transaction, you may be better off waiting until you are absolutely sure of your dates. You may have to pay more to reserve so early -my advice is to wait until this fall. In the meantime, do all of your research.
