Well, I have Disney fever! We did WDW last fall, Disneyland this fall, and now I am dying to take a seven-day Disney cruise with my DH and now seven-year-old DD. We probably will not be able to do this until 2004.

DD's school breaks are as follows: entire months of June and July, first two weeks of October (fall break), and second and third or third and fourth weeks in March (spring break). I think I would prefer March or October. Which of these months is the best bet money-wise and weather wise?

Thanks for your help!

October, you are pretty much in Hurricane Season. June & July are very HOT. March might be nice. We found that May and November are terrific times, weather wise, to sail. Don't know about price comparisons, though.

Hey, when you think about it -- ANYTIME is a good time for a Disney Cruise!!!:D

we've always been lucky cruising in early October...also, you get some of the most inexpensive prices of the year

Cara; is your school system on year round school? I'm just curious, because I think our state will be going to that in the unforseen future, and I'm curious about the breaks! We are DVC members, and would love to be able to plan our trips during those breaks!

Natt, our school system is on what we call an "alternate calendar." We have four nine-week quarters, and we get two-week breaks in October, December, and March, and eight weeks off in the summer. I love this schedule!!!!

How do the prices compare in March and October? Any ideas?

March can be expensive, because it is spring break time for a lot of schools, including colleges. If Easter is early it could make it worse. The weather in October can be iffy. Didn't some of the late september/early october cruises this year have last minute route changes?

I haven't been keeping up with the latest news, but last I heard, DCL was only booking 7 night cruises through April 2004. There's been talk about a Mediterranean itinerary in the future. Just thought I'd throw that out there, just to further confuse things :)

Thanks for the replies thus far. Anyone else?? I am addicted to the DIS!

October! I have had absolutely the BEST weather then; yes, it is hurricane season but it is still warm and generally not that rainy. My second choice would be December, which is past hurricane season. We've had a cold and rainy day in Castaway Cay in December but the Caribbean has definitely still been warm in our last three December cruises.

I'd avoid March as it is MUCH more expensive due to spring breaks.
