When should the discounted (AAA or AP) rates for the hotels be released for 2012?

Hi -

I booked HRH today for April 2012 today. I only booked the standard view as the rates given to me were through the roof. I was instructed to call back to look for discounted rates. I have AAA, but don't have an AP, but would get one if rates would be significantly cheaper. We'll be staying for two nights April 7 - 9, so over Spring Break. Do they usually offer these type of discounts over holiday periods? I need to know if I need to keep looking, or if the rate I have is the best I'm going to get.

spring break is a difficult time to get good rates.

the hotels know people will book no matter what the price.



when discounts are posted, change from rack to what ever is out there that is cheaper than what you will be paying.


i can't remember if there are many discounts for the hotels during the high holiday season.

forgot to mention to you....


you can book the room with the AP rate even though you don't have one in hand.


if you secure an ap rate, buy the ap online before you go.
activate the voucher for the ap once you get to the parks.

show the front desk you have an active ap if they question you during check in time.
