when should I check for lower airfare?

I'm trying to plan a trip to Las Vegas in May. Right now the cheapest flight I can find is about $350. I was hoping to do better. I signed up with Southwest, can't get DING to work on my computer though. Is there a best time to check for drops in prices? Certain days of the week or something? TIA
