Supposed to come in next Monday-Friday....but Dorian will probably end this vacation for me. Today is Friday, August 30th, and the ressie starts Monday, Sept. 2. Up till when can I cancel this room only ressie? My daughters want me to wait.....

They are allowing cancellations up to the day before. Why do your kids want you to wait?

Could you go earlier? Tomorrow or Sunday? We were in the same situation for Charley and flew in 2 days early so we were there before the hurricane hit.

I can go earlier, as I drive down. They need to fly down and have other plans that can't be changed. Luckily, I think we are going to move this to mid-September, but unfortunately, we won't be able to get the great rate we did at the Beach Club. So staying moderate. :(

There is another disturbance off the coast of Africa that has a 30% chance of developing into a cyclone in 5 days. I'm hoping this hurricane season will be pretty much over before Sept 29 when my reservation starts.

Mine starts the 24th- I'm right there with you. Oops! 23rd! lol

Orlando Airport has ceased operation as of Monday at 2am. So no flights on Monday!

It's now up to 40% chance of developing into a cyclone in five days.

Likewise. Gonna be unhappy if Mother Nature decides to do a 'powerwash' that week 🌪

I know my troubles pale in comparison to what's going on now, but we've been rained out of seeing Fantasmic the last 3 trips- twice in one trip. I know I'm asking a lot, but if it could please just not rain long enough on 1 evening so my grandson can see that show, I would be eternally grateful to the powers that be. lol Here's hoping that Dorian makes a right turn and leaves everyone alone!

As frightening and saddening that Dorian can be, the idea that maybe storms are planning trips in the hurricane season to go to Walt Disney World and enjoy the parks made me smile. Imagine, there might be a “dishurricaneboards” things when they all discuss about the best “time” to go there and how to “watch” shows before they're closed due to the weather.

All jokes set apart, please stay safe everyone.

My I ask where you get the information from? I will be coming over from Germany on September 7th for 10 days and am bit worried as we don’t get hurricanes or cyclones. I must say cancellation isn’t really an option for me but changing to a later date might be...

Here is the best link to see what is on the horizon. The main page has a map that shows what's out there. The big Yellow X's what is in the early development stages. Hover over the Yellow Xs to get details and also the Hurricane Dorian.
