When should I book?

We are in the planning stages of our April 2008 trip to WDW. We have decided to stay at POFQ and will do park hopper and the dining plan. I plan to use my Disney Rewards Visa to book the vacation to take advantage of the 6 months interest free. It will be my husband, me and our 2 kids, 5 and 3. I know we want to do several character meals and the Bibbi Bobidi Boutique is a must! So having said all that, when should I book this magical vacation? I always thought you couldn't do more than 6 months out but others have said I should do it way before that if I want to get everything I want. Any advice would be appreciated!

I have already booked my July 2008 trip. You can't book the meals until 180 days out, but the rooms can be booked 500 days out. Packages like you want however, I think will come out in August? Anyone help on this?:confused3

I have booked our April 2008 trip. We are staying at POR in AB:woohoo: We already have tickets so I booked room only reservations over the phone. I don't know exactly how much it costs yet because the reservation is at 2007 rates for now. I do not know if you can book packages for 2008 yet but call and see. Maybe you can book a room only reservation and add the package when 2008 rates come out.

If you know your dates and resort, I would book now for room only. When package prices are available, you can switch. It is only a one night's deposit for a room only ressie. Anything charged to your Disney Visa over $150 receives the 0 interest for 6 months deal. From what I could tell (please confirm this), after we went on our trip, our 6 month deal for the deposit was reset for 6 months after the 45 days before our trip mark (day that the money was due) and our total was reset to 6 months after our trip. It was confusing, but I had plenty of time to pay it off.

Here is a Disney Visa Reward tip that I read on these boards. You can order your card now with the expiration date of Dec. 2008 (make sure that the expiration is Dec. 2008) and only put the minimum on your card (20 points). You can transfer a minimum of 20 points. Right before you need the points, transfer everything that you can. Just keep in mind the 20 point minimum.
