When should I book room?

If I wanted to go in March of 2008 when should I book my room and start making my dining reservations?

Or,
If I wanted to go in OCT of 2008 when should I book the room and dining etc.

For March 2008, I would book as soon as possible. It is spring break time and WDW is always VERY busy at that time.

For October, you have a little more leeway, but it has also become a popular time for folks who do not like the summer crowds and weather. I believe there are a number of golf events then that draw crowds, too.

Be advised that the 2008 rates aren't out yet. You can book a room only reservation now and the rate will be adjusted when the 2008 rates are published.

I have been calling Disney every day since June 13, 2007. I've been told everything from maybe the first of July to end of September. Most times, I have been told mid-August. This would line up with the last two years.

I, as well as a lot of other Disboard members, are keeping our fingers crossed that the rates will be out soon.

You know you people are freaking me out with all the talk of how busy it is in March. We are going the 2nd -9th and I'm already worrying about crowds... I know I shouldn't but I am.
BTW OP, I just reserved our room only ressie yesterday for our trip in March. I couldn't wait any longer to not make sure we at least had a room!

I would book now, I usually go at the end of March. We changed this year because our Spring Break is right when Easter starts. We have an early Easter this year. It does get crowded, but the worst time is usually the week before and the week after Easter. The crowds are still mangable if you go, but you have to plan your day well. The good thing is the parks are open later. We went last year on March 23, and the first 3 or 4 days were wonderful. As the week progressed the crowds became heavier. You can still have a good time if you go the week before or after Easter, but be aware it is very crowded. Not impossible. You can book your adr's at 180 days from the start of you vacation. The only thing I can say about October is that if you are planning on going for the Halloween party at MK, I would book sooner. If you are not going until October 2008 you still have plenty of time.
