do you ever make money? Or, at least come out even?

I would never recommend that anyone buy DVC with the idea that they were going to make a profit. However...people who bought early and are selling now are certainly making some nice profits.

Always :flower: Assuming you keep your DVC for a few years--we bought a contract in 1998 at $54, and sold it last year at $74, which I think means that our vacations were free!! :teeth:

I wouldn't get too excited about the profits.
Suppose you bought OKW in 1993 at $50/pt (estimate) and sold it today at $80/pt. That works out to a whopping 4% annual profit rate.
Of course the real win is that you got to use the points along the way!

It's still better than my Marriott, which is selling NOW for $18,000. I bought mine resale last year at $10,500, and the price is actually lower than that now, probably closer to $9000. I'm not even sure I could get $9000 without a healthy wait. I like my Marriott, but it sure doesn't hold up in the resale market like DVC does. :goodvibes

Right about what I was hoping for, actually.
