I've posted looking to rent points in the renting forum, but was wondering what the prices are to add on Deluxe dinning to a points reservation as well as park tickets (4 adults and a 2yr old).

Can I just add on dinning once I check in (that way if they announce free dining I can use that, and pay the difference to upgrade to Deluxe dinning) or do I need to add it at time of reservation?

Thanks!

The owner you rent from will have to call MS and make your DDP arrangements prior to your arrival. You will pay for DDP at checkin; you don't pay the owner for that. You should have the owner make those arrangements, and DME, well in advance. Don't leave stuff like that until the last minute because you run the risk of the owner being unavailable.

As noted above, there is no free DDP with DVC points reservations. Free DDP is primarily a lodging promotion to try to get people to stay onsite renting through CRO.

You do not have to purchase park tickets with DDP on a points reservation, so you can buy them from one of the discount brokers and save a little money. There are no DVC discounts on regular park tickets, and as a renter you will not qualify for the DVC discounted annual pass.

ETA: Although you will not receive any DVC member perks, you will be entitled to all of the perks of staying onsite: DME, free parking in the theme parks, EMH, etc.
