The title is something to take to heart when it comes to things that are of major importance during a trip.

About 2 weeks ago, I made 2 resort reservations for 2012 (not sure when I'll be able to travel yet, so better book both) and decided to go back to my old love of CBR. I asked for a standard view room, no problem. Had the CM persue the roll in shower room and sure enough; bump in the road. The CM she talked to told her no such thing at CBR, when needing a roll in shower you would need to book a king bedroom. I know this isn't true from previous stays and kindly told her so. She again went back to the CM, telling him that I have booked this category many times with no problem. Than he told her it was because of the "rehab". Again; not my experience with stays after it. Female regular CM really tried but the male guest service CM simply stuck by what I "knew" was wrong. The female CM obviously couldn't solve this and was a charm about it all so I told her to just book it and I'll have it sorted out by mail.

I know from this board that they are changing the setting of accessible rooms at the mods, changing out (some of?) the king beds for 2 doubles and kept that in mind. However a king bed room is a bookable category at CBR so that shouldn't be the reason for this change. I fired off an email to guest services. After 11 days I got 2 new resort confirmation emails. You guys know the ones you get after making a reservation or changes. Sure enough; both ressies are now for standard view rooms with according price and have a roll in shower blocked for me.

I knew this always was an option and was 99% sure it couldn't have disappeared. I kindly explained in my mail that I wouldn't mind having to upgrade because of all the rooms being already booked and believing this was just a case of wrong info provided but if not that I really would regret a change that would result in me having to pay more than planned to stay at CBR just because of the roll in shower where that option for a standard view room was always an option before. And sure enough; I turned out to be right. My ressies are fixed.

It just goes to show; always follow up when being told something that just doesn't sound right and is of major importance. Kindly asking (obviously one does not want to start ranting and yelling) never hurts but it can make a lot of difference when you happened to have run into somebody that didn't have all the information at hand or simply made a mistake. Ask!

Wow, I am sorry that you could not ge teh help you needed by calling, but I am so happy that you took the extra step and now have what you needed. The only time I have had trouble when calling was recently when I needed to change something and the guy I got told me that my travel agent would have to call. That's all well and good, but I don;t have a travel agent. I made the reservation myself. I kept telling him that and he kept telling that he understood, but I would have to have the agency that made the resie call...grrrr. I hung up called back and was told by a very helpful girl that special reservation had locked my resie to make sure no one made changes that would cause a problem with our needs and she got them on the lone and had my situation resolved. As you pointed out, not yelling and losing your cool will get you much further. Some time you have to have a little ( or in some cases A LOT) od patience with people.

I'm a pretty relaxed individual. I know mistakes are things that will happen when working with humans and/or computers. Such is life and I knew that if I was right, it would leave me with enough time to take care with it in probably one try. As it did, I'm one of those that goes '"oh wel, mistakes happen, no harm done in the end". I also know that not everybody persues when they have such a feeling of a possible mistake and/or miscommunication. Which is why I posted this. If it can help out just one person; perfect!

As I was reading this, I went "must be the locked thing being mistaken for a TA" and sure enough it was. It happens. Shouldn't in a perfect world, but it is what it is. It's not great having to call again but at least it got taken care of immediately. :thumbsup2
