*When Park Reaches Capacity...

I am planning to go do Disneyland on the 4th of July to see the fireworks. I am afraid that it will reach capacity before I am able to get there (I have an all-day convention to attend). Is there any way to assure that my group can get in?

I was wondering if we went early in the morning, got our hands stamped, and then went to the convention - would that assure entry later in the evening?

I have Priority Seatings at Blue Bayou for dinner. Does that help us get in?

If I have an Annual Pass, does that help at all?

As far as I know, nothing will help you get into the park if it's at capacity. It doesn't matter if you have an AP, a dining reservation, or a hand stamp. Capacity is based on the actual number of people IN the park, not the potential number of people in the park.

None of that will have any effect. When the park is full, it's full. The one thing I know will be accomodated is a reservation for Club 33. Beyond that it's first come first served.

I had read that they close the park in stages, much like they do at WDW...stop ticket sales or closing parking lots being the first stage, AP holders and Resort guests only, then close the park to everyone.

Is this not true?

We went back in 2003 and were in the park on the 4th of July. We didn't have any problems with park capacity and never even heard anything of them closing the parks in stages as well. I don't think that will be an issue for you.
