Is there a time frame that mosquitos usually die off in the fall or winter months in Florida?

We are going second week of November.

Thanks for the help.

At this time last year-- the reports were coming back that mosquito's were in full effect right up through the 2nd-3rd week of October-- pretty heavily. Now I went the last week Oct/ First week Nov last year and we didn't have a very big problem w/ them. We still used bug spray though and seen a small handful. I would still be prepared for them just in case.

I am sure there will be more of them this year due to all the standing water from the hurricanes. Bring your favorite insect repellant.

Mosquito breeding slows down as the temperature of the water drops in the fall, but adults don't die until ther is a killing frost, unlikley in central Fla. It's my understanding that mosquitos are around all year, but probably less active in the late fall/winter.

Thanks everyone.

We haven't had problems with them before in the fall but I thought (as safetymom said) that with the standing water from hurricanes that it might be more of a problem this year.

We will bring some repellent along.

ugh, don't laugh at me, but what goes on first, the bug spray or the sun block , I'm guessing the sun block! All that stuff on our skin won't be any fun, but it's best to be protected I guess ::yes:: !

If you need both...then go for the two in one kind...sunblock with bug repellent in it.

I'm buying Avon bug repellent and sunscreen in one - 30 spf.

It's DEET (chemical) free.

Unfortuantely the DEET is what keeps the mosquitoes away. They recently switched to providing DEET free for WDW CMs. The mosquitoes aren't repelled by it at all.
