When MDE app is working, does it run on Apple Watch?

DH considering Apple Watch as gift for me for Christmas and wanted to give it to me early if it can be useful for our trip 12/1-11 (so I don't have to keep pulling iPhone out to check FP+ schedule!). Any of y'all have any experience?
