When making ADR's.....

I have a question. When you call to make ADR's they always ask you "Are you on the Disney Dining Plan?" Is there a specific reason why they are asking? Do they only block out a certain number of ressies for DDP people vs. "regular" people? Just curious.

I'm always asked that now that the DDP has come in to effect. I have no idea why they ask. I don't do the DDP so I don't worry about it.

I've always been asked that question. It started many years ago really as long as you've been able to make PSs by phone.

Really? I've only been asked that in the last 2 years. Never, in my prior trips have I been asked that.

With some ADR's whether or not you are on the dining plan means whether or not your credit card is charged immediately or just used to hold your reservation. People not on the dining plan will have their card charged immediately for some reservations.

For as long as I can remember I've been asked that question....many, many years before the current DDP. We used to do the old Gold Key plan when we went only one per year and were asked even then. Perhaps you never noticed since the old dining plans never got the publicity that this one has?

No i definately have never been asked before this year!

I wonder if it does make a difference? We are not on DDP as it doesnt work out a good deal for us this time, but would be interesting to know anyway.

Nope, I'd remember. We are big WDW trip takers and I know we have never been asked before. I don't know why some are and others are not. One of the great CM mysteries! LOL!
