they're expecting RAIN this weekend

Whats the best things to do at Disney (or the orlando area) when it rains ???

I was thinking about EPCOT center, is that the best bet for a rainy weekend ??

What indoor activities are the best bet ?????

DTW has Disney Quest with the video games and much more. We also go to Belz Factory Outlets for things to bring home.

When it rains in Florida - it seems to RARELY rain the entire day - maybe for 30 minute bits here & there as the clouds pass over & then again when other rain clouds come through. looking at weatherchannel.com 10 day forcast, the rain percentages seem fairly low per day right now (30% most days except sunday 60%) so hopefully it wont be too bad at all.

Wishing you short rain bouts & a great time!!! :cool1:

30% chance on Saturday and 50% chance on Sunday means its more likely not to rain on Sat and equal chance on Sun. Just don't run for cover for fear of rain, see if it happens.

With the exception of the TD in the Pacific, there is nothing you can see on the radar now that will indicate the weather this weekend.

We are getting into the summer pattern. Pretty soon, there will be rain chances of at least 20% every day. That does not mean that every day will be a wash out.

What to do when it rains? Put on a poncho and get on with your vacation.

The crowds at the parks lessen with the rain--bring a rain poncho and enjoy no lines. SInce there are lots of indoor things at Epcot, that is a very good choice. MGM would be my second choice.

When it rains, we do pretty much the same thing as when it doesn't rain. We go to the parks. First choice on a rainy day is definitely Magic Kingdom. It has the most densely populated attractions and you can go from one to the next to the next and barely step outside. You can do all of Fantasyland and barely get a drop of rain on you.

A lot of folks recommend Epcot in the rain. The thinking is that the pavillions are large and you spend a lot of time in each one. The problem is they are far apart from each other and you get soaked running from one to the next. So we generally avoid Epcot in the rain. MGM is okay also. Forget AK if you can as so much of it is out in the open.

Downtown Disney is fine. Hotel hopping is good. Start at one monorail resort and visit all 3.

If you have a car, head over to Belz or Millenium Mall. If you've never seen the Gaylord Palms, you can spend an hour or two touring that property - its quite a site.

Plenty to do in the rain. Don't let it ruin your trip for a moment.

We were at MK in early March and it rained all day. It was the best rainy day I have ever had! With the exception of Splash Mountain we did every ride we wanted to (sometimes twice!) with absolutely no line ups! Buy your ponchos at Walmart - they are cheaper and still have Disney characters on them. Have fun! My picture of the castle and main street turned out great because the lights were reflected against the puddles!
Enjoy!

I sure hope our pal isn't hiding inside today. It has been beautiful. I haven't seen a drop of rain.

Too funny Ted!

We often stay on our DVC points in a 1BR unit, so when it rains we make popcorn and watch a movie, update vacation photo's on my web site, read a book, soak in a warm bath, or just putter. That's the beauty of DVC, you don't feel "cooped up".
