When is your winter & Easter school breaks?

I thought there was a thread on this but cant find it.

Anyone know when the schools in their area are on break?

Private schools in NY have winter break feb 20 -26
and Easter vacation March 24 to April 3rd.

I am very curious about this as well. We are planning our 5th WDW trip for March 2005 and had concerns about spring break crowds(never did spring break before). Will be bringing 10 and 3 yr old grandchildren and just didn't think they could take the summer heat. Last trip was in October 2002 and it was great, although still a little hot. Due to school schedules this year, it has to be spring break or summer. Any info anyone can share about spring break would be appreciated

For my kids, in Mass public schools:

Winter break - Feb 21st - 25th
Spring break - April 18th - 22nd...

In the province of Ontario, Canada most of the elementary schools are taking March Break the week of March 12 to 19, 2005. However, elementary schools in the City of Toronto (in Ontario) are combining March break with Easter (March 18 to 28).

Do a search on "April 2005." I did that and found many different threads with people sounding off on when their Spring Break was. We are going April 23-29, which is when NJ and some of Long Island are on Spring Break, as well as parts of New England, but I think it will be a little less crowded than earlier in the month.

I'm in Westchester County, New York. The majority of public schools follow the same schedule (established by BOCES), but some may choose not to.
Most schools here are not having the typical "Winter Break" that revolves around President's Day. We do have President's Day (2/21) off, but not the rest of the week. For my school district, we're having a Staff Development Day on Friday 2/18, so students have an extra long weekend. That's all, though. There is usually at least a week off at this time, but not this year.

Just around Easter, there is no school from Thursday, 3/24 until Monday 3/28. School resumes on Tuesday.

The Spring Break, then, runs from Monday, 4/18 until Monday 4/25. School resumes on Tuesday 4/26.

Sorry, but I'm not certain how the rest of the state's public schools have worked out their breaks.

My son goes to a Phila Charter School
Their Easter break is from March 24th to March 28th

My wife works for a Phila Catholic School
Their break is From March 24th to April 3rd (Easter and Teachers Convention in Philadelphia)

I live in Naples FL our Spring break is March 21-25. I'd love to go to Disney this week but won't go near the place over spring breaks heard it's horrible. Crowds almost like Thanksgiving & we did that never again.

Alot of schools in FL have to make up hurricane days don't know if be over Christmas or Spring break. I think our school will be Christmas but don't know yet.

New York City public schools are out the week of Presidents day(Mid-winter break). They're out on Good Friday then a week during Passover, April 25-29.

I live in MA but my daughter now attends a private middle school in Rhode Island and the vacation dates they have are

Winter break Feb 21-27

Spring Break April 18-24

I will be taking her out of school on the Friday before Spring break which is the 15th to head down to US and IOA for 3 days at HRH before heading over to BC. HRH was very easy to get a room at. I recieved a standard room for only 264.00 for the dates of 15-18th of April. Thats not even with the Entertainment rates. I cant wait to see what they are when they come out.

Buffalo area, but not Buffalo Public school Feb. 19-27. Buffalo City schools do not get Feb. break

Easter break March 25-April 3 again except Buffalo they get 2 weeks, one includes the dates above and the second, I believe is until April 17th.


FYI Buffalo city school have 2 weeks for Christmas begining 12/17 and ending 1/2. Most others int he area have only one week 12/24-1/2

Great Site 232271- Looks like only 3-4 schools in Florida have mid to end of April as their Spring Break. Majority of them have it at the end of March beginning of April. Works out great for me.

I thought I read somewhere on these boards by a Florida resident that because of all the hurricanes they have been having which has closed down alot of the schools for a while now, that they were actually going to be trading in some of their vacation days during spring and xmas this way they dont have to go to school until late June-beginning of July when the weather is intense. I feel bad for the kids because of this because a break is really needed during those times. What they should do is extend the days by an hour or so.

North Texas schools are typically out in the 3rd week of March. This year it is March 14-18.
