When is your school's Christmas vacation??

I am curious what Christmas vacations people have this year, with Christmas day being a Sunday. We always have two weeks, so we will have from 12/17-1/2.

We will be in the parks until 12/21 (Weds), and I'm curious if most schools will have that whole week, or just the latter part of the week?

I'm sure some of you aren't sure yet, until the calendar comes out, but this OC plannning thing won't let me wait! LOL!

here in jersey we only ever get one week +/- a day. This year it was 12/24-1/3. I am very jealous of all these states with 2 weeks off!

I taught in NJ for 10 years, and I remember how frustrating it was! One year we had a half-day on Christmas Eve! I mean, honestly people, stretch the chain around our necks!!! LOL!

Our school district starts holiday break on December 24. School is back in session on the first weekday after the new year. This past holiday the kids returned to school on Jan 3.

Hillsborough County schools (Tampa) get 12/17 - 1/2 (go back on 1/3/06).

I wish our 2 weeks wouldn't start so early. I'd love to have more time after New Years (when the crowds thin out) to visit WDW.

Next year the federal holiday for New Year's is Monday January 2, so many of the northeastern schools that only have one week will have their last day on Friday December 23 and be back on Tuesday January 3.

In England we get 2 weeks for Christmas (give or take a day depending on where we live.) I break up on the 20th December and return 4th January (we fly to WDW 21st December and return 2nd January, arriving in England on the 3rd.)

I believe here it is dec 23 until jan 10?? it's the week between xmas and new years and the week after new years. Maybe go to new years???? We just might!!

12/17-1/02 here too. I'm booking DVC on the 24th for 12-17 through 12-22.

Our vacation can vary anywhere from 1-2 weeks depending what day of the week the Christmas holiday and New Years Day fall.

For us next year we will most likely only be off one week. With the last day of school 12/23. Our kids get the longest vacations when Christmas and New Years fall mid week. Then they tend to get 2 full weeks off.

With Christmas being on Sat. this year, we had Wed, Thur, and Friday before Christmas and then the entire following week off. It was the entire week before and the entire week after the previous year (2003).

By the way, that is for some West Virginia schools.

Due to missing school for the 3 Central Florida hurricanes, they took 4 days away from our kids for Christmas Vacation to make it up, plus one day from their mini fall break. The original vacation would have been from Dec 17 through Jan 5, but ended up being Dec 22 through Jan 3.
