I have been calling over the past few weeks to made my Dining plan reservations for June 8-12!! The system is not accepting reservations past March. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just the DVC member line that is doing this or is it the general dining reservations system?

From what I've heard and read, there is now a 90 day window for all ADRs. I am assuming that applies to member services and the regular reservation line. We are going to try to finish our ADRs for our trip in March tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. :surfweb:

So, there is no longer a 180 day window? If that is the case, then I will stop calling MS and bugging them!! LOL!!!

Yes, please do, lol! Our dues are high enough. I don't bother MS for meal reservations - I call the dining line. There is no dvc meal reservation system - when you call MS they then access the only Disney dining system there is.

I figure rather than taking a MS person away from someone wanting to book a stay, I'll call disney dining and make my own reservations...without charging that phone call to our dvc dues.

Dining and tour reservations are now being accepted 90 days plus 10 by MS and WDW-Dine.

I didn't realize I was potentially adding to an increase in dues by calling MS!!! I figure, since that is the number listed on the DVC member website to call for dining reservations with the DP, then by all means, that is the process to follow!! I have never used the DP before and have always made my dining reservatons through the dining system, but since the DP system will be used, I just followed the directions. When you call MS, you are asked about dining reservations as well.

I figure I should be able to use the 1-800 MS number for any questions that I may have without having to feel that I am taking away from another member trying to book a reseration. I think that is why I do pay dues. I, too, am a member of DVC and have questions.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I totally agree with you on that one too. I have been asked before "can I book dining for you".

Disney is upgrading the entire Dining system and so these same rules are in place for everyone making reservations, regardless of whether they are DVC or not.

RE: Member Services and dining. I always, and I mean always have problems when MS tries to book dining - I have had maybe 2 MS CMs who know a ton about dining, most of the time, they connect me to Disney Dining as they struggle to make ADRs, with credit card holds, etc. I am very patient so I have no issues, so it's always the MS rep who apologizes and switches me over to Disney Dining. I think it's much easier for them to do this, plus, it frees the lines up for people making travel reservations.

Supposedly the system will be up and running within the next 10 days or so - rumour is there might be online dining reservations!

HTH, Tiger :)

The official MS position on this is that they want to be a one stop shop for members, our personal Concierge, if you will. Their goal is to be able to book everything in one call, resort, dining, tours, etc.

Here's a copy of the email I received on 12/23 from AKV concierge since I was on a list to book a safari tour for May. Originally once the new reservation system was in place the booking was going to go back to 180 days but they have officially made the 90 days permanent. Well.....permanent until they decide to change it!

Dumela!

As of today we can now only book dining, recreation and tours 90 days
out from your date of arrival plus ten days. We will be booking your
plans as they become available on this new window. Thank you for your
patience during this period of transistion.

With the growing pattern of Guests booking their dining, recreation and
tour experiences closer to their travel dates as they finalize their
vacation itineraries, we will be adjusting the booking window for those
experiences to a 90-day period, effective December 23, 2008.

Cirque du Soliel as an outside operating partner will still book La
Nouba at 180 days out.

All existing bookings that were booked for Chef Mickey's, Victoria and
Albert's and Cinderella's Royal Table will still be honored.

Thank you again for your patience and we will write you when your plans
are booked

I also do not use MS to make reservations...I always call the regular dining number :goodvibes

I do too.....but I have booked dining through MS if I happen to call for reservations and am ready to book dining. It is an option that we are members do have if we choose to use it. I think most do use the regular dining number though.

Normally I do use the dining reservations phone line to book my reservations. However, in the past few years, I find that I don't call to make dining reservations at all. I usually wait until I am at OKW and simply hit 55 on the room phone and take whatever is available (our vacations are much simplier and easy going nowadays).

I have been calling MS since mid December and I keep being told that the system is not accepting reservations past March. Never once, did they mention the change from 180 days to 90 days. Waiting a few more months is not a problem so long as that is the system in place (90 days) across the board. I am trying to book a graduation reservation for a large party in June and would really be bummed if I got locked out due to the change in the reservation system.

The change to 90 days was only announced last Monday or Tuesday. I believe it is permanent. One of the main reasons is they are not releasing park hours that far in advance anymore.

I always call MS for dining ressies. For as much as we pay in dues, I don't want to have to pay for a long distance call to WDW dining. And I've always had good experiences with MS. I'm glad to see the switch to 90 day ADR's. After we book our stay, we have fun planning our days and where we want to eat. In the past, we then call to find the times we want or the restaurant is booked already - so I think this will put things on a more even playing field for those of us who don't plan 6 months out. Looking forward to online ADR's too!
