When is the Cheapest time to stay at FWL?

Have heard of special deals at Wilderness Lodge for $199 per night but never seen them myself! Anyone had a great rate for WL?

Would love to go to WDW in November of 2013, but honestly will go when it is cheapest to stay there. We've been to WDW 5 times now and I'm ready to stay at my dream place!

The best room-only WL deal through Disney I have seen is the 40% discount - which included the month of November. A few years back WL/AKL standard rooms during value season were $240...making rooms $144 a night before tax. And if memory serves me correctly, November regular season standard rooms were only around $265.

Recently, however, the 40% has been replaced with either a 30 or 35% discount. Also, it does not cover all or at least most deluxe resorts like it did in the past.

I have seen better deals outside of Disney, like the 2010 Orbitz deal. I scored an AKL Savannah View room cheap...and had my pick of many others including WL Courtyard View. However, that was more like hitting the jackpot.

Your title says FWL, however, I knew what you meant.

FW is a resort/campground
WL is a resort/hotel

We are staying there in December 2012 and it is costing about $205. That price is after a 35% discount but doesn't include taxes.

The second week of December has been a good time to stay at the WL. The Christmas decorations are great and good discounts have been offered in the past. People have gotten on to WDW during the holiday season and the crowds have picked up over the last few years. We have stayed at a WDW resort every mid-December since 1992, having stayed at WL at least a dozen times during that time period. Keep an eye on these boards for discounts and there will a very good chance you will get one.

Plan well ahead of time and be a little flexible with your dates.

Thanks! We have 2 little ones in school so I was hoping to use their Veteran's Day break and not miss too much school, but we can be a little flexible.

This would be my dream trip for 2 reasons - of course staying at WL but also a chance to see the Christmas decorations! Never seen them before!

We'd love to stay here for 4 or 5 nights the week right after Thanksgiving - do you think there will be a discount then? or is free dining the best discount for 2 adults then????

I would say there is a good chance for a room only discount a few days after Thanksgiving.

I was able to book a bounce back offer when we stayed there for one night in June. It was a 35% off offer. It saved us over $1000.
