I usually plan to trip from late March to early April or from late July to August.
In this case, when is best use year for me?

For now, I think the December is better.
I'm sorry for my poor English because I'm Japanese.
I'm waiting for advice, thanks.

I'd probably recommend February...that would put all off your normal travel within 8 months of your UY.

Thanks advise, DVC sales said now I can choose Apr, June, Aug, Sep, Oct, and Dec.
I don't know why I couldn't choose Feb and Mar.
Above these Use year, Dec is better or not?

I think with your travel schedule, February use year will provide the maximum flexibility.

While I agree that February is the best UY, Dec UY would be second best.

I would ask again if there is a way to get Feb UY if buying from Disney.

Thanks for your advise, I asked DVC sales I can choose Feb or not again, and she said yes. However I have another question, it is so complicated for me to understand what is the Use year means....

The UY is like your anniversary date and it starts the date your points are considered current UY points.

So, with a Feb UY, your points are good for stays from Feb 1st to Jan 31st of following year. If you can’t use all your points during this time, you can back them into the next UY and it gives you an extra year to use them

You have th first 8 months to bank them if they are not going to be used. That is why having a UY just prior to your travel give you the most flexibility if you have to cancel at least 31 days out.

I asked DVC sales I can choose Feb or not, she said yes, but if so, I will get 2019 UY point. If I choose Oct or Dec UY, I will get 2018 UY point, it is so complicated for me.

I already rent points on next July( I will go to Aulani), so I thinks I don't need 2018 UY point....

Yes..when buying direct you get points for the current UY. So, right now we are still in the 2018 UY for Oct and Dec but 2019 for the rest. As soon as we get to Oct 1st, only Dec UY would be eligible.

If you already know you can’t use those points..meaning you won’t be taking an additional trip in 2020 before they expire..you’d be banking them..the n I’d opt for February UY and forgo those points. I the long run, the UY will benefit you

Thanks again! yes, after next July Aulani, I won't have no chance to go anywhere in 2020...maybe next travel will be on July 2021, or Mar. 2022. In this case, Feb UY is the best for me?

I have another question, if i choose Dec UY, I will get 2018point and soon get 2019point too. Then I will find renter for 2018points, I can get some rental fee, so Dec UY is not so bad?

Correct. If you are willing to rent, the you can get money for those points. I’d use a rental agency to help.

So, Dec UY would work for you and give you some extra money from the rental

Thanks again!
