when is the best week to go to MNSSHP? I know that I have to avoid weekends but I would like to go when it is possibly SOLD OUT>>>> :

Are there any holidays or school breaks that are happening in october? How's the weather? Is it hot enough to go to the water parks? I know it rains often that time of year but is it THAT bad? Do you recommend october or should I just stay with my summer plans? :listen: Can't wait to hear from all you experts :D

October is the ONLY time that we go to the World! The weather is great...usually right around 80-82...the rain is pretty much gone by then (of course now that I say that outloud...it will pour buckets next Oct.!) We have been to MNSSHP three times - twice on the 31st and once the Friday before. We have never had any waits on the rides over 5 minutes or so. We absolutely LOVE MNSSHP!! It is definitely worth going to! The weather is still fine for the water parks...we are doing Typhoon Lagoon this Oct. because the new water coaster will be open! I highly recommend going in October...it has always worked GREAT for us!! :teeth:

A resounding "ditto" to the previous post. We love going in Oct. and MNSSHP! We have been there on a sold out night, and did not notice the difference from the not sold out nights. It is fabulous and fun and you will still walk on to the rides. People will say early Oct. is better, but then you have Columbus Weekend which is when our sold out trip was. It's great at any time!

ummm quick question here... what water coaster?

Typhoon lagoons new waterslide is apparently like a coaster, it goes forwards backwards and you get pulled up!!!!! Sounds sweet, cant wait till its open!!!!!

Yeah. I have seen them before. I think Mall of America has one in it. What I meant was do you know its name?

We went to MNSSHP mid-October and it was awesome. We went on the 19th of the month and the crowds were low. It was a Sunday night - I would recommend doing that. Great temps both day and night - warm. Definitely water park weather.

Did I read right that you want to go on a sold out night????

I have been in 2003 on sold out Halloween night. Then in 2004 we did the first party of 10/1. The crowd difference was unbelievable. Essentially there were no crowds at the 10/1 party. At one point me, DH and DS were walking through Fantasyland and we were the only one's there other than a few CM's. Literally, there was not 1 single other guest in sight no matter which way you turned. It was really weird.

We accomplished so much more and had to spend less time waiting at the 10/1 party. I LOVE MNSSHP, and plan to continue to attend the early one's.

I'm with the other posters. We Only Go in September or October, whenever the Jewish Holidays are. We're not Jewish, but we do live in New York and in New York, Jewish Holidays are School Holidays and we get off, just like on Catholic Holidays.

It is Definitely The BEST time to go! ::yes::
We attended the second opening night, which was on a Saturday the first week in October. It was Not Crowded AT ALL!
I have to say, that night that we spent at MNSSHP was one of The Best Nights In My Whole Life. I still savor the memories.....Imagine, dressed up in costumes and Trick Or Treating In Disney World!! It's just Crayyyyyyyyzzzzzzzziiiiiieeeee!! !

I have a question about this too. We will probably flying in on October 30th and with DS (9) and DD (5) I really wanted to do something special for Halloween. So basically we go the night we get in (our flight would arrive around 1:30pm) or we wait and actually go on the 31st. Is it insane to consider going on the 31st? Also, I have a question about the tickets. I know you have to pay a seperate price for the MNSSHP, but do you also have to use your admission ticket as well? Does that make sense? If we do decide to go the day we get in, we are going to be pretty tired. But.... if the crowds might be slightly smaller we would consider it. We would only be getting a 4 day pass, so my very long winded question is would we have to use one day of our 4 day pass plus the extra cost of the party when we are only going to go for the party?

would we have to use one day of our 4 day pass plus the extra cost of the party when we are only going to go for the party?
No. I had one day left on my Hopper Pass and we arrived at the gates a half hour early. I handed the CM our MNSSHP passes and she said we had to wait the half hour. I said, how about if I use my Hopper Pass to get in? (I was insane with Disney!) and she said, why do you want to waste a whole day on your Hopper Pass for a Half Hour inside? Just wait the half hour and you'll have that extra day to use tomorrow...
So it is a separate ticket. You'll use your MNSSHP pass for Sunday night and then you'll have your 4 full days to use on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (or whatever) but you do not have to use your Hopper Pass at all to get into MNSSHP.
(I'm also long-winded!)

GoofyDad...
The Crush n Gusher is modeled after a ride at Schlitterbahn water park in New Braunfels, TX (one of the largest water parks in the world). From what I have seen, you ride in a 2 person tube through the ride which resembles a roller coaster...it looks awesome! It is due to open this spring.

We are going in October and I think we'll do this cause it seems AWESOME!
Do you guys rent your costume in Orlando and bring them with you in your luggage??!?

Chantal

We always bring our costumes. For anyone who wants to go Halloween just remember every year those tickets are selling out earlier and earlier. So be sure to get them shortly after they go on sale.
