Is spring break done the week after easter week?

I don't know any schools/colleges that are off 2 weeks after easter, do you?

I'm planning a trip for the 3rd week of april this year, and trying to decide if a touristy place will be ok crowd-wise, even disney possibly (or busch gardens, va and washington dc).

Our spring break this year is this week. It was supposed to go until Monday but now that is a snow day make-up. I would think you are fine.

I am in central FL (hour from WDW) and our Spring Break starts next week...kinda sucks since our WDW tickets (the FL four day new ones lol) are blacked out during the break and are good again 4/10-5/25 lol. Would have been nice to go during the break but we are going to go the following week instead.

Many public schools from New England have the week of April 19th off. I went to WDW that week 2 years ago and it was very crowded. Don't remember when Easter was in relation that year.

In my town (in CT) and most of the towns in my immediate area are off the week of the 19th to the 23rd, with a few off the week before that.

I am in Mass and had the third week of March for spring break! so not all schools in Mass are April! I know of a ton in March....

thanks for all the replies!

I wouldn't have thought break would be so far after easter, but I guess it's really "spring" break, not easter break, and so many schools today are on such different yearly schedules.

have to rethink plans... what to do... what to do...

Add Upstate NY to the list of school districts off the week of 4/19. Heading down with my youngest nephew.

Here in the South, many of the schools were out 2 weeks ago. I do know that Grad Night starts the 23rd of April. Be prepared for MK to close early the 23 and 24, then another weekend in May.

My family went the week around Mother's Day back in '03, we walked on all rides, there were no crowds to speak of. If you can shoot for early to mid May that could be a better bet for you, if you're looking to avoid the throngs!

We're in Central NY and our schools have off the week of the 19th.

Our schools have a week off mid-February, so spring break is always toward the end of April regadrless of when Easter falls.

I've been helping DH's friend plan her family's first Disney trip for that week. I'm hoping it won't be too crowded. Since spring breaks around the country vary I would think the crowds would be staggered throughout the months of March and April. (where's the fingers-crossed smiley? ;) )

yeah, I think if you want to avoid any spring vacations...just avoid March and April all together! I always do May, that is my birthday month...and it is aways awesome!! hey, only 42 days!!!!:thumbsup2

Spring break in our school district doesn't start until April 12. We get a winter break during President's week in February so they push our spring break a little later so the breaks are at least 2 months apart. I'm not sure if there's really a standard anymore for spring break scheduling. I know other school districts in our area that have already had theirs and others, like ours, who still have over a week to go until break.
