when is spring break in CA this year???

From a previous thread several pages back (sorry, I didn't have a link), it sounds like it varies through end of March? through mid-April. I hope someone had saved a link to the thread and will post it for you. It appeared the busiest time was April 5-19.

It truly does vary. Many UC schools (Cal and LA, I know) are off end of March. But there are high schools which get off in early April.

My kids are on spring break the week before Easter and I will be off the week after. They go to middle and high school and I work at an elementary school, different districts.

And some schools don't even have their spring break anywhere near Easter. :confused3
Phoenix schools(or at least my friends school) are off the second week in March, and many head to DL. Our district and those around us are all off the week before Easter.

CA is a BIG state with many, many school districts. They don't all have the same spring break. Plus, you definitely have to consider neighboring states if you're trying to estimate possible crowds.

That said, I was looking into cruises out of LA and if pricing levels on those are any indication... I'd expect the week before Easter to be particularly busy (April 6-10)

Good Luck with your planning!

We are in Phoenix and our break is March 16th-20th.

Hi colbybug, your question is not uncommon at this time of year. :) And as you've seen in many of the responses above, Spring Break varies from school district to school district as well as from the neighboring States.

However, there is a clear answer to the question: "When does Disney expect the largest concentration of Spring Break visitors?" And the answer can be found by looking at the Annual Passholder Blockout Dates.

AP BLOCKOUT DATES
Southern California Select APs: April 3-19
Southern California APs: April 4-18
Deluxe APs: April 10, 11

In other words, Disney blocks out the local passholders on the days they expect larger crowds from out-of-town. April 4-18 includes the week before and the week after Easter (April 12).

Regardless, there will be guests on Spring Break in March, as well as in April around these dates. But the largest numbers of Spring Breakers will be visiting during those two weeks. I hope that helps your trip planning!

I think we are going to try for early March (like the 7th thru the 10th). All of the responses wre most helpful! Our Spring Break is from 4/10 to 4/19 - including the weekends). Definitely NOT the time to head to Disneyland apparently!

Thanks again,

Kathy

We live in Washington and the spring break schedule is the first week of april. Our kids go to school in Oregon and they are on spring break the 23-27 - which is when we will be there. Hopefully the crowds won't be terrible....I've been there with 3 hour waits for rides and that was not nearly as fun!
