I am sure someone has the "latest" update on this hotel... ANYONE?? (also, what will this resort be like?)

We were told at a "Meet the Hotel Brass Reception" at the HRH that the Royal Pacific would be open August 2002.

I'm no expert on the subject but I was at Universal and the Hard Rock a few weeks ago and here's what I saw:

1) The hotel is supposed to be open sometime in 2002 (August?).
2) So far, they have the steel structure up, but no walls or anything.
3) It looks like it will be a very large place, bigger than the Hard Rock, not sure compared to Portifino Bay.
4) One thing that struck me was how close to the highway it will be, I'm sure they have plans to alleviate any problems this may cause, but when you get off the exit for Universal and the Hotels, you see the construction right there. The other hotels are further down the road across the street from each other.
5) I'm sure it will be a spectacular place and I can't wait to see the finished product and hopefully stay there.

Hope this helps! :)

they now have the roof on two of the six sections. The sign says opening in summer of 2002.

If you hop on Fearfall, you might be able to get a good view of the hotel construction.
