When is Jersey week 2009

We're planning our '09 trip for November. Does anyone know when Jersey week will be that year so we can avoid it. (Not people from Jersey, just the crowds).

The first day is Nov 1 a Saturday. Now many schools do not have off the entire week just the following Thurs and Fri.

NJEA Convention is November 5, 6 and 7, 2009..so, that's the Thursday to Saturday of Jersey week.

OUr kids have off Nov 6 & 7. So from Nov 6 - Nov 9 it will be crowded. Also, many people will take their kids out of school the Monday - Wednesday. When our children were younger that is what we did. So from Nov 1 -9 Jesey will be there.

Our school calendar shows that the NJEA convention is on the 6th and 7th. Our kids have off 6th & 7th...then 8th & 9th are the weekend...then they have off on the 10th and 11th for the Veterans Day holiday (guess they figured why not just make it one big long weekend).

The Food and Wine Festival also ends on November 9th, so there will be a lot of folks there for the weekend for that as well.

I have been looking all over for this-- I can't believe that I found it on the DVC planning board!!?? so what I am understand is that it will probably be from Nov 5-6-7-8-9-10-11 right??? 6 & 7 conferences, 8-9 weekend, 10-11 for Veterans day, does this sound about right?? My kids have off Tues (11/3), Thurs (11/5) and Fri (11/6). Our reservations are reservations are from 10/31 - 11/8.

We'll be there. Arrive November Monday Nov. 2nd Depart. Sat. Nov. 7th (on my son's birthday.)
My son has off Thurs/Friday/Mond/Tuesday.

I am in the throngs of scheduling our 14 day, 4 resort, Oct-Nov trip and I hadn't counted on the Jersey-Veterans day holiday . So what are the parks like during that time? Or is crazy, with long lines a good start?

We'll be there Nov 1-6, then moving over to Universal for a couple of nights. We have been NJ week many times, and it isn't bad at all! It's just that many of the people there are from NJ. So if you are from NJ, you run into people from home (at least, we always have!). It is no where NEAR what I hear the crowds are like during Springbreak or in the summer, or Christmas or even Thanksgiving!

When I was a teacher in NJ, we always had to go either one of the holiday weeks, including President's week, or Jersey week. Believe me, Jersey week was a picnic compared to any of the holiday times. The biggest problem I found with Jersey week was the parks closed pretty early. I have memories of MK closing at 5 or 6. I don't think it's that early anymore, so you should be good to go.

We haven't done Jersey week since doing it last time in 2000. Have the crowds really gotten that bad? We found them quite manageable when we went.
