When is hurricane season?

I hope someone can help me, we always go in may or june and love it, but this year due to work can only go later in the year. I am thinking of september the 22nd, can anyone tell me if the weather is any good, does it rain a lot and is it hurricane season? my 9 yr old daughter is in tears as she thinks the weather will be scary!!!! please can anyone help me reassure my daughter!!! It has taken me this long to persuade my husband to go!!!

The hurricane season in Florida runs from the beginning of June to the end of November with mid August to mid October being the height of the season

we have been in September and October and always had hot sunny weather! so no need to worry, hurricanes are rare...

we got married in sept last year and had no hurricanes, the weather was great, we have been in sept a few times and only 1 year hit by one but was fine, disneyw ere great

Dont worry, its better to go in sept crowds are very light

We have been 4 times in Sept/Oct & have only ever had one 20 minute rain shower in all that time.

It is a great time to go as crowds are lighter & it is sunny but not as humid as the summer. I will be there 7 - 28th!

We;ve been in Oct and it was FAB! Not one down pour!!Lovely hot weather. Queues were minimal (10min wait tops!!) Best time to go when youve got kiddies I personally think!!!! xx
