Earth to the OP: by now, it should be clear that so-called "fall break" is quite uncommmon, so don't worry about it affecting attendance at WDW.

Disney has changed the park hours for the first 3 weekends in October. SOMETHING (and I'm not saying it's only fall break ;) ) is having an effect on attendance.

Likely the F&W festival - brings in adult crowds, and they don't simply go to Epcot.

could be. as I said earlier upthread, I think it's a combination of several things... although, I've since noticed that the hours have changed for most of the weekends in Oct-Nov-Dec. Who knows what that means? Probably nothing. LOLOL. :rotfl:

In our school district we go year round..so my kids are out the first three weeks of October. They get a shorter summer break and more frequent breaks throughout the year. I'll still be taking them out though. We had originally planned to go during their fall break, but the free dining didn't fall that way.

until the upcoming school year, my kids went on a modified year-round calendar. We typically had 10 weeks off in the summer, and 2 weeks off in Sept/Oct, Christmas, and Spring. We have a new Superintendent, and that schedule has been altered slightly - one week plus a day in the Fall & Spring, and I'm not sure what the Christmas holiday break is. I haven't looked. LOL. We also have a couple of 4-day weekends, and will wrap up the school year mid-May.

Our school system has a week off about every month, then two months for the summer. I think they're trying to go to a year round school.

We are also Georgia - Athens- no official fall breack for our school districts. Most locals take a very unofficial fall break the weekend of the University of Georgia vs. Florida football game, last weekend of October. Seems like 1/2 of North Georgia detours to WDW before or after the game weekend! Makes it nice and quiet here at home for those few days!!

Your schedule sounds a lot like our's. Our Christmas break is now a few days shorter (but still a little over a week) so the kids get a full week during fall and spring while getting out mid-May instead of early June. This has worked well since we've had pretty mild winters and haven't had many snow days.

We've found fall break to be very nice for traveling and are looking forward to WDW this year. :cool1: :cool1:

You didn't list ours. Its the week of Sept 17 - I know a good many GA schools have this same schedule.

In Central New York, there is no Fall break. During Columbus Day week in October, the Liverpool school district has that day plus the next day off for superintendant's conference day. So, our kids only have a 3-day week. We have, at times, taken the kids out of school that week so they don't miss too much school.
