When is Fall Break in your area?

Good points...and perhaps this thread should have been labeled "if you live in the central part of the south, when is your Fall break?" The use of the term "your area" makes it sound as if this is a national discussion.

I thought about ignoring you, but your posts take the cake.

Pardon me if I didn't label the poll how you want it to be labeled. The whole reason for the poll was to see who did or didn't have fall break in the US here on the DIS, especially since I'm obviously not psychic enough to figure out what areas do have fall break. I also felt other people traveling during the fall would like to see the results.

There is no need to be rude with your "Earth to OP" response - this board is here for people to learn more information and if you don't agree with a post or a poll, please do not comment at all if you can only say negative things and bring others down.

My word of advice in life...how you treat others will be how you are treated and what comes around goes around.

Here in NH (and I think all of New England) we don't have a fall break. As a matter of fact, I didn't realize anyone did!

Our schools don't take a whole week for Fall Break. They are out only two days, Oct 11 and 12.

no fall break here in nj but a lot of families take their kids out of school on election week bc nj has teacher conferences that week and the kids get 3 days off of school. i will be avoiding "jersey week" bc it is packed at the parks.

Small World huh? If they keep pulling your flight back you may be on the 7:00 am with us! We have reservations for WL but I'm waiting for discount codes. If there turns out not to be any, we may end up at POR or POFQ, which is fine with me. The week of our fall break is 2 half days, Wed is full then off Thurs and Fri. so I don't feel too badly about taking grandD out of school.

Well, I live in Zionsville and my inlaws are in Westfield so the world is getting smaller! We are going the same week as you guys are (taking 2nd grade son out M-W of the fall break week) but are driving down and staying off-site.

Hopefully it won't be too crowded that week!

Well if it's crowded, we may all know each other! Maybe I'll ride down with you. My husbands just loves to fly but I'm a white knuckle flyer.

One of my best friend's brother owns the Cobblestone Grill in Zionsville. Great food.

It is a small world, isn't it?? Looks like a lot of us from the Indianapolis area are taking advantage of fall break and going to see the mouse!!! I know I will probably get a nasty letter from the school for taking the kids out, but OH WELL!!! This is the FIRST time since they have been in school that I have done this, pretty good considering my kids are 10 and 6. Last year, our fall break was longer because they combined PT conferences with fall break, but this is the first year they are not doing that! They have PT conferences on Oct 18-19th(no school), and then go to school for 3 days, then have off on the 25th and 26th. How crazy is that??? So, I have a feeling I will be one of many taking my kids out for those few days. We are looking forward to it! Only 95 more days!!!!!

We are in Georgia, and fall break is 10/1-10/5, and yes, we will be at WDW. It is hard to believe the kids start back on July 30th!!! I grew up in CA and we started back after labor day.

Here on the NW Side of Indianapolis, it is only 2 days for us.....Oct 25th & 26th.

Same with us in northern Indiana.

Fall Break for Omaha, Nebraska is Oct 22-26th. Taking the boys out of school a couple days early so we can do 4 days at Vero and 5 at WDW.

Another Hoosier joining in...Our Fall Break is also Oct 25th & 26th. We'll be taking our 3rd and 4th grader out the whole week. (We'll be leaving on Sat the 20th) My sister and her family from Noblesville are also going that week. We had originally planned to go in July so the kids wouldn't miss school, but decided to heck with school give us some cooler weather (hopefully)..

Ummm, Kentucky? I do believe you have your state wrong...Al Gore was born in DC and was a Senator in Tennessee.

Do you think just because I'm from KY (or the South) that I'm stupid? Is that why you choose to bash me? Your posts obviously seem to go that way. What a narrow minded person YOU are. I could say a whole lot more, but since I'm a southern gal with manners, I'll keep it at that.

No Fall break in NC unless it is year round schools. We only get a week and 3 days at Christmas! Most of the time a full week before or after Easter

Here in Denver suburbs (Cherry Creek Schools) we always get the last week of October off. We go back 8/20, and school gets out about 6/4. We think the tradeoff is well worth it, it is a great time for a vacation, and especially with F&W going on.
