When is Epcot gettin a new attraction thats fun

If you want thrill rides (coasters), then go to Six Flags or Universal. Let the rest of us enjoy Disney as it is! :)

So no more additional rides period? You said as is.

Do you honestly not enjoy Test Track or Rock N Roller Coaster or Mission Space? Why can't we have our Cake and Eat it too? Disney was the last to stay with the status quo. Just because Disney can get away with more dark rides doesn't mean they should.

And with it comes the closing of EPCOT. People don't go to Disney to learn, they go to have fun, and taking away the Fastpass attractions will do the opposite of fun.

I don't know if it's an American idea that learning can't possibly be fun, because done correctly, it definitely can. The original EPCOT Center was very good at that, but they didn't update when needed and when the popularity declined due to the age of the attractions, then they decided to replace them with all thrills and no educational value.

Sorry, but that is not what EPCOT Center was founded upon.

Mission Space is amazing and if that ever closes, I will be a sad panda. Also, have you tried the Kim Possible adventure, because if you haven't, you should. The Nemo thing was bad, but that is my only complaint.

Whoever said that learning can't be fun? The original pavilions including Horizons, Imagination, World of Motion, etc. were about learning and when they were new/fresh they were great fun!

Personally, I don't go to Epcot to go 60mph or to spin and puke. Granted I enjoy Test Track, Soarin', etc. (as I do all things Disney), but I would trade them all for a little creativity like the original attractions in a heartbeat.

Would this "close" Epcot? Hardly, Epcot survived on this premise for the first decade + of its existence.

To be honest with you....Epcot hasn't been the same when they removed Horizons and World of Motion.

I agree. Epcot is a place to go for the laid-back atmosphere. Part of the appeal is that it's where you can go to escape - for the most part! :) - from squalling children and stressed parents. If you pay attention, you can learn things through nothing more than absorption of your environment. Epcot is a fun place; if you're looking for thrills and attractions, there are three other parks. ;)

I also love Epcot! But what I find interesting is there are a lot of cool things inside Future World that people miss out on. I've been to Disney World 20+ times and only on my last visit did I find out about (I don't know it's real name) the house with all the inventions in it that is constantly updated! It's not a thrill ride but it was one of the most interesting things I've ever seen, and I only learned about it because of a tour I went on for Epcot.

Perhaps, they should emphasize some of the neat stuff they already have in Epcot but that people miss out on in their eagerness to get to Soarin' and Test Track (not that I don't love those!)

The other thing would be to update some of the pavilion rides. Norway is an amazing ride, but what about something like O! Canada! At least make the movie more exciting in some way or add something else to it.

Although that might not be up to Epcot, but the actual countries themselves (I'm not entirely sure on the protocol, but I thought I remembered that the actual countries have a lot of say in this).

Sadly this is a different generation. Innoventions is not really all that amazing anymore, however, if they were to actually put some interesting stuff in there, I would be all for it. I would not mind a mixture, but many people would not. This is not the 80's anymore.

The problem I see with Innoventions as it is now is that Disney seems more worried about what sponsors want to pay them, than what is actually innovative and futuristic. I mean we have Waste Management and Velcro as sponsors now, then there's the UL and Kuka displays which haven't changed in years.

It hasn't changed at all except for the games that rotate out of the consoles. It was awesome when I was 10, but now, there isn't a whole lot to justify your time in there. If they could make it a REAL Innoventions, I would gladly spend my days off in there.

I love EPCOT! Personally, I would try to add more interesting attractions though....along the lines of SOARIN...maybe even an IMAX movie theater to show the new DisneyNature films and 3-D special features. Maybe even a whole DisneyNature Pavilion of some sort. I'd also add a few more countries or group of countries, like the Caribbean Islands (we're missing out on some great Caribbean music)....and they could do a mini "Carnival" style parade there. The Caribbean has a LOT of culture that could be featured.

That's a really good idea, actually. But wouldn't that be more along the lines of Animal Kingdom? I mean, obviously nature would include things that aren't animals like plants and the earth, but with the whole theme of animal kingdom, a nature pavilion would fit in quite well, I think

Welcome Becky and thanks everyone who answered my question lets hope something new comes in 2010 cause the other parks have newer attractions

Innoventions is my least favorite part- I like making paper though. I've always loved that since I was little! Watching the segways are pretty cool too (Eventually I'll learn how to ride on there..)
I agree with updating the rides some- like the Norway one. On Google Earth, when you go to the 3D WDW thing, they have a video for the ride in Norway and when they get to the polar bear part all the people in the boat scream their heads off! Its pretty hilarious to me... but anyways, I think they should update that.

Good point. DisneyNature would go very well somewhere in Animal Kingdom.

Still EPCOT needs a little something more....some kind of extra spark. If not a pavilion for the Caribbean, how about the South Pacific? Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti....
