When is best to link magic bands to AP?

hi! We are first time magic band users and first time AP holders. We have a short trip planned for May. I have ordered some magic bands from Disney Store. We will purchase APs at the end of this month. Should I go ahead and enter the magic band numbers in our MDE account or should I wait until we get AP vouchers or should we wait until we get there? Thank you for any help and advice!

Go ahead and link them so you can book your fastpasses. I can't think of a single reason to wait.

You can link to your MDE account at any time. (Including as soon as you order, using your confirmation numbers.)
You can book FP+ as early as your window opens (either 30 days or 60 days.)

All without your AP being activated until you get to WDW and go to a ticket booth or Guest Relations
to do the activation.

I wanted to ask this question as well since we have decided to buy AP for our fall trip....a few clarifications if someone might share their expertise....what if I already have magic bands on my account, can I link the confirmation number to those, then make fp+ at 60 days? Then just to make sure I understand, when we arrive October 17, we "activate" the APs at guest services, and that is the first day if our AP calendar year? Thank you for the help disers!!!

1. Yes, if you are registered at a WDW resort.

2. Yes.
