When in October???

We went on October 17th this year for our anniversary, and it was on a Sunday. It wasn't awfully busy. I'd say go either the first or second week of October, and it really won't be that bad at all. Check Halloween Party dates for next year as well, just so that you don't miss out on any park time due to early closure if you don't plan on attending the party.

It has recently become that pretty much every weekend in October is relatively busy. The first weekend is usually Gay Days. The 2nd weekend some people have "Fall break". Then by the 3rd weekend people start coming in!

Therefore, if crowds is the main factor of planning the trip, you want to consider going during mid-week. HOWEVER, the 2 major drawbacks of this are: limited hours and limited entertainment schedule. Park hours during the week can be as short as 10AM-8PM for DL or shorter on Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party days. On weekends, DL is open from 8AM-12AM. Also, fireworks and Fantasmic may be only playing on weekends. WoC also may be limited to only 1 show each night during the week.

There are trade-offs. If it were me, I would plan a trip with at least 1 weekend day to get a long day at the parks with some awesome night entertainment.

We were thinking of doing a Monday to Monday... So would the 10th be too early in the month with school vacations? would the 17th be better?

Wow! I thought the 17th was beyond CROWDED! There were thousands of people there for a scavanger hunt of some kind so the rides were much longer on the 16th but the walkways and everything were a nightmare on the 17th.

The 18th was wonderful! Barely any crowds!
The 14th a Thursday was also kind of crowded but not as bad as the weekend.
