When I-95 is bumper to bumper...

We're going Easter week and planning on taking I-95 to S. Carolina and eventually to I-77. I know I-95 can be very crowded through Florida, Ga. and S. Carolina. Can anyone suggest any alternative backroad routes? A1A for instance? Or rt. 301? Any ideas?

Rt 301 has worked for me in the past. It runs roughly parallel at many points to I95 and is usually fairly clear.

Thanks! It looked that way on the map to me. We'd rather drive stop and go backroads than slow freeway travel.
