Hi All,

I have been so inspired by everyone on this site and can't wait to arrive in Disney and surprise everyone w/all of the goodies but...how do I do that? I would love to hear all of the ways that you have handed out your daily treats and surprise goodies!

We have a group of 12 staying in 2 different condos and the age ranges from 1/2 to 71 (the only reason I mention that is I am not sure that night night time; yes I have babies; is the best time for candy).

I am also doing the Mickey's Grand Welcome and think I will recruit a helper to set it all up with the rest of the group explores the complex.

So...any thoughts or ideas on how I can bring this to life? One idea I had was to have it there at the "main" condo on each morning when everyone gets togther. We will also be celebrating 2 birthday's while we are there so the "main" condo's dining room will be the staging area for that.

TIA for you help!

I am doing treats for each day of our trip, but each child is getting a backback apon our arrival (at T-Rex for dinner our first night). Everything is inside, but the snack treats have the days of our trip on them - so there is a Saturday Treat, Sunday, etc. Also all of their T-shirts for the trip are in their backpacks - I will tell them which day to wear which shirst. The rest of the stuff is a pillowcase, a name tag lanyard (with info on the back incase they get lost), a door hanger (we are staying off property in a town house, so everyone has their own room), and an autograph book. the only thing they are getting before that night is an activity book for the car. I am sure you will get many other ideas on how to give the treats. The kids may be excited if it is somewhere when they wake up.
By the way I am going two weeks before you - it is a great time of year to go - the weather is usually great.
Have Fun!

If you are making invitations to events. I slid mine under the door each night like a concierge would. Then when everyone woke up in the morning it was a nice little surprise to let them know some of the special things they would be doing that day.

For the gifts...one day I left them at the front desk so the light was flashing in our room and the kids got to go down and sign for the gifts. Lots of days I would have them on the beds when everyone would get back to the hotel from a day at the parks. I even hid some in the suitcases before we left to go back home so they would find a few treats when they unpacked their suitcases after the trip.

My all time favorite memory of going to Disney World as a child and getting a gift was my father purchased Cinderella watches for me and my sisters (although we didn't know it then) and he went and found Cinderella and had her give us the watches in front of the castle.

I also had backpacks that I made for the kids and gave them to each child when we were on the way to the airport (a 3 hour drive) so that they would have things to do in transit. There were travel games, activity books, crayons, pens, pencils, toys, snacks for the trip, etc. I had a "luggage tag" hanging off of the backpack and their names embroirdered on them as they were plain red backpacks from Wal-mart that I got for $5.00.

Also, for some trips I have gift baskets waiting in the rooms after we check in filled with fun treats, drinks and snacks.

Minnie321 - Thank you so much for sharing what you are doing. I love the backpack idea, that is really neat. Plus, what a great way to keep it all organized!

Like you, we are doing t-shirts for everyday too so that is definitely part of the "treat" as well.

Oh, I am so excited to hear you say that the weather will be nice in April. I had this fear yesterday that is was the rainy season but I couldn't remember for sure (after looking it doesn't look like it is).

Thanks Again!

Dolly, I seriously got goosebumps when I read about the watches from Cinderella. Your Dad sounds like a very special man!!!

I am definitely sensing a backpack theme. We are flying but my 2 nephews will be driving (ok, my BIL & SIL will be driving) but...I have already been working on travel games for toddlers and I like this idea to keep it all together and give them something special for themselves.

The front desk is another fun idea, I would have never thought about that (and how fun to go sign for a package; everyone loves that!).

I am going to do invitations too so that sounds perfect to slide it under their door (plus it would be a great idea for a birthday invite of sorts too).

Thank You So Much!!!

Another idea. If you wanted to put groups of things to give like t-shirts and you don't have room in your luggage for a bunch of backpacks...take gift bags as they fold easily and don't take up a lot of space in luggage or even look for the cute recyclable bags that you can get for $1.00. Target usually has fun colors in their $1.00 isle, and you could add a cute DISign with transfer paper to them.

This thread has a cute pics of how one mom made gift bags look like Mickey and the Gang's clothes:

I found some character reusable bags at the disney store I think they were like 1.50 - so one day my dd will get a bag of goodies from tink, one day from the princesses and one from Mickey and the gang. :wizard: We are celebrating her 5th birthday while there so we have a ton of little treats each day for her. I also have been collecting disney birthday cards and will leave one each day from one of her favorite characters.

Can you tell she is my one and only and I feel so blessed to have her?:flower3:

oh my goodness, my dad did the same thing for me and my best friend in 1978 on our 1st trip to disney world

we did ours each evening after we got back to the room and since we were flying i bought gift bags and decorated them with disney stickers for my kids and then just prepared them nightly. we are not morning people so it was too much to try to do everyting in the morning and get ready. I did it for my in-laws too who were in a different hotel so before we left, i wrapped their shirts in tissue paper with an envelope attached with the day to open it, inside the envelope was the schedule for the next day along with our dinner invite and a good night character nugget too. it was so fun everyone really looked forward to their treats at the end of the day.

Hi there..what is the Mickey's Grand Welcome??

NEVERMIND...just found it while I was sarching thru other threads!!

What a fun idea. I had bought the bags to be part of my grand welcome for each person but this is such a fun idea to personalize each day!

With 4 kiddos under 3 I can't imagine what our mornings will be like! I hope for just the same response of everyone getting excited to see what the next treat brings. Thanks for sharing!
