I was just wondering because I seen this mentioned a few times when going to the TTC from the Contemporary and Polynesian, which Resort has the faster route to get there? With the Contemporary you get on the Resort Monorail the TTC is the very next stop. At the Polynesian all you do is walk to there and you could be lucky and have a longhouse that is very close however you might have a longhouse that is a bit farther away, so the distance to the TTC could be a bit longer.

From the Poly you have a short walk to the TTC, and a short walk BACK to the Poly.

From CR you have a short monorail ride to TTC, but then a LONG monorail ride back to CR - probably a long crowded ride if you are there when the parks close.

KWIM?

For the record I was only asking when going to the TTC, not when going back to either of those Resorts.

I voted for the Polynesian, walking to the TTC.

At the Contemporary, you have to factor in getting to the monorail station,
waiting for the resort monorail (if it's at the TTC already it will be a while
before it makes the rotation), and then counting on the line to be short
enough for you to be on the next monorail. There's the unloading and
loading, too.

If you have perfect timing, sure...the Contemporary will be faster. But I
think even the walk from let's say, the Volcano pool area won't be that far
of a walk to the TTC.

Too bad we don't have anyone handy to test out the timing on this. :)

... upon which longhouse you are staying at when at the Poly. Rapa Nui and Tahiti are the closest longhouses to the TTC. Tuvalu and Aotearoa can be quite a hike. I stayed in Hawaii and I thought it was a long walk. (Then again, it was at night when I first experienced this, so it seemed longer.)

As stated above, going TO the TTC from the CR is the quickest. But it beats walking (especially if you're not in Rapa Nui or Tahiti) if you don't mind riding the monorail through three stops (Poly, GF and then MK) to get back to the CR from the TTC.

We stayed in Tahiti and never took the monorail from the GCH - we only walked over to the TTC, it was so short and convenient. The only times we have taken the monorail from CR to anywhere, the lines to get on were fairly long.

My guess is that there are too many variables to give a definative answer. For example, if you are in a room at the far end of the south wing on an upper floor and by the time you make it to the monorail platform you see the monorail leave and must wait, it could take longer than the walk from one of the closer longhouses.
