I strive for efficiency. Since I already have my foot elevated to put the sock on it, I also put on the shoe before repeating the process on the other foot.

Another question - do you have a foot that is usually the first to be "dressed"?

I go barefoot in the house. Socks go on as I'm getting dressed if I know I'm going out. Shoes go on just before leaving the house. I always wear sandals (rarely shoes) in warm weather, so no socks at all for several months of the year.

The right foot is always first.
