When fireworks are cancelled?

Hello all,
I'm traveling in one month! Now I know there are scheduled fireworks all three nights of our stay because it's a holiday weekend. My question is, if the fireworks are cancelled, is this announced to guests? how and when? Does it show up on the app? Are there certain CMs that are the right ones to ask? Around when do they usually make the call?

I'm thinking about crossing over from DCA on Monday in time to see the fireworks from Main Street (not expecting a perfect spot), but if there aren't fireworks, it would be nice to know ahead of time so I don't need to rush.

Thanks!

They will make announcements starting either 15 or 30 minutes before if there is a chance for cancellation with there might be winds at higher elevation and a decision has not yet been made.

I've had experiences where the fireworks started, and then abruptly stopped in the middle of the show. I've also seen them start late if they are expecting wind to die down. They are constantly monitoring the wind and it's a very fluid situation, and very hard to predict.

I don't believe DL fireworks cancellation announcement is broadcasted in DCA.

We've also experienced a mid show cancellation. Generally they make an announcement, but you won't hear it in DCA. You would have to ask a CM and hope they give good info.

Not what I was hoping for, but helpful! Thank you!

The last time we were there they announced that there might not be fireworks 5 minutes before the show... fireworks actually started about 15 minutes late that night, so I'm glad we stuck around. They officially announce that they are canceled when they have definite confirmation that they cannot shoot that night. So, keep your fingers crossed.

My recommendation is to always try for the fireworks that first night, and if they cancel them then you can try subsequent nights. Don't wait for that last night to watch them.

My first visit with DS we staked out a spot...and then they made the announcement they were canceled. This is especially disappointing if a stay only includes one chance to see them. Agree with PP always try to see them your first night so you can try again if they are canceled.

Definitely the plan! I'm used to WDW's nightly fireworks so i'm going to try for every night if i can :) First night we have a BB Fantasmic package so we'll watch the fireworks from there (if they happen). Our last night we have a CCR reservation so we could hopefully see the Party fireworks from the balcony (if they happen). This would be for the night in between!

They get cancelled relatively frequently later in the year. Usually they try as hard as they can to get them running. The first announcement will always be that it should happen, but that there's a chance it won't, the next will be an announcement that they will probably be delayed. If it is definitely not going to happen, the next will probably be cancellation. If it is 9:40, there is a chance that they most likely won't go off because they have to start by 9:45 or sooner to be done by 10:00. Don't be TOO disheartened, though. The good thing about Disneyland's newfound obsession with projection mapping is that they might have a short projection show in place of fireworks. At least, that's what they did during Christmas. Hopefully you do get to see them, though. Good luck!

They can be canceled any time from mid day to 5 min after they are scheduled to start depending on condtions. They make an in park announcement inside DL then the Guest Services cast members at City Hall, Chamber of Commerce and the in park kiosks have the info to disseminate. Rest of cast member are just guessing unless they also herd the announcement. That info is not trickled down top all cast members.

Not sure if the app is updated.

I went once when they were announcing midday that the fireworks may get cancelled (it was a windy day)..then when night rolled around they officially got cancelled right at the start time.
