I need advice about what to do if your family is over 4 people. I want to go during the dining promotion, but the value resorts only allow 4. What should we do. Keep our reservation in December when my mom can go and already have 2 rooms reserved or go now without my mom and get free dining? Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated. :)

If you are not all adults you can reserve one room at Port Orleans Riverside. They have a child trundle bed for a fifth person. It's cheaper than 2 value resort rooms. If you aren't spending a lot of the time in your room, it should be fine. We're staying there in September with free dining, me, DH, DD(14), DD(12), and DD(10)

I think it would depend on the size of the children. I have heard the trundle at POR is too small for anyone over about the age of 5 to sleep on comfortably. I think I heard somewhere it was smaller than a twin size bed :confused3 but I have not been there so don't know for sure.

It also depends on how you sleep. Do you curl up or stretch out?

We've stayed there several times. Last time my oldest DD was 12 and 5'7" tall and she loved sleeping on the trundle. The only problem we have with the trundle is that the kids argue over who gets to sleep on it. We end up having them take turns!

I've also heard about smaller adults using them. Disney recommends them for ages 3 through 9, but does not restrict them to kids. Adults can use them if they want to . Can't say I'd want to use it. Its really a mattress that is stored under a full size bed.

we are a family of 5 and get 2 rooms that are joining. you can ask for it and if the children are young you are pretty much granted it

POP CENTURY has family suites available if I'm not mistaken..Not sure of the price...I believe I have read on "the dis" the cost is equivilent to 2 rooms, but you might want to call & get a quote!

We have 3 kids and we have continued to stay at the Riverside resort. Although it is a bit more than the cheapest rooms, you can have one room with 5 people in it. There is a trundle bed. The really cheap Disney rooms are really really small. Even though you are never in the room, it is nice to be able to turn around!

actually, All Star Music has the new family suites, and while they are available for booking and were booked/scheduled to open earlier this month, i've yet to read a report of anyone staying in them as the opening was delayed...

personally, for five people, i'd most definitely take two rooms at a value resort... one room, no matter the size (unless it's a suite) is just too small for five people (unless they're babies, but even then, i'd hesitate) and the glory of two rooms (connected, not adjoining!) is two bathrooms and two televisions! :happytv:

I think PoR is the best. The atmospere is very laid ack and family friendly, plus you can all fit in one room. Go 4 it.
