When does your public school start summer vacation??

I'm so envious of all of you going to WDW for holidays - I was in your shoes last year and I remember our excitement. We still have several months to go for our 'magic' fix and since this is our first summer visit as a family, I was wondering when all the schools begin their vacation.

For San Antonio, last day of school is Thurs 5/26.

Wow! Here in the UK, schools don't get out out till the middle of July. My DD will finish the first week in July as she is in private school but otherwise, schools can finish as late as 25th July.

In Cherry Hill, NJ the kids get out around the 20th of June.

In the Atlanta area, our kids get out 5/20.

Here in central Ma we get out between the 16-21st, depending on snow days. We are booked tho for a trip on the 18th regardless!!

fizz13--when do schools in UK start back? Do you have any long breaks during the year? Do you know approximately how many school days are in a typical year?

In this part of NY we start school the Wednesday after Labor Day and finish around June 24th depending on snow days, when Labor actually is, etc. We need to get at least 180 days of school (NYS rules) but generally get a few more than that.

newholiday--our next trip will be August 2006, so I'm also interested in when schools start up again.

We live in a county near Charlotte, NC and here we start school at the beginning of August, and finish in May. DDs last day for the 2003-04 school year was May 19th, and she started this year on Aug. 2nd.

Here in NW Florida - we were originally scheduled to be out May 20th. Thanks to Ivan, we'll be out June 9th this year.

SE Texas here (between Houston and Galveston) - our last day of school is May 27 (the Friday before Memorial Day weekend). LOL - we don't have to worry about Snow Days here!!

I'm on the coast in MA and my girls are scheduled out on June 24th. That allows for 5 snow days.

Here in NOrth Central Texas, we get usually two ice days a year, and they don't even REALLY build them in, just take over vacation days to make them up. Usually, we can get by with a late start on icy days, as our TexMex sun heats up pretty quickly! All the big districts here (Dallas area) start between August 4th and 18th (2005) and end May 16th-27th (2004).

We get out June 17th here in Loudoun Cty, Virginia! We are leaving on June 17th for Disney!!!
