So everything that I have read on here and from the PDFs my consultant sent me say if we are having our ceremony at the wedding pavilion and out reception at the Atlantic Dance hall that you can tentatively hold space and we can begin on the letter of agreement process at the 16 month mark but when I e-mail him to see if things were still open and when when February 21 comes around if we will begin the agreement process he wrote that we won't be able to work on the letter of agreement until the 12 month mark. So since i am too impatient to wait till Monday :cutie:: I know you could help me with my question. So which is the right answer??? Thanks!!!!

i'm not familiar with the new changes of the dates, but let me just say that they are slow and lumbering but painfully diligent about when the "planning" begins. we got our date, but we didn't have a lot of contact about that after the "penciling in". i asked questions about other things and looked up lots of stuff on the boards and my passporter's guide, but that was about it. and the PS happens in or after the 6 month, depending on the planner (who it sounds like you've not yet been assigned - all normal!) and their schedule too.

good luck! do you have the passporter guide? it is extremely helpful - more info than even disney has in one place.

Yes i just got the passpoters guide! My future husband loves it!! Thanks for the quick response. I'm ok with waiting a bit before the real planning happens i just want to be sure i get my date with the wedding pavilion and Atlantic dance hall and not have to be put into a lottery. It's sounds like once the 16 month mark comes around and no one else wants that date and i get it no one can book the locations and times i requested right??

Yes from what I understand no other bride can get your time/locations. I too have read that for non conference facilities, the LOA process can start right away-but I've never read of someone actually getting to do that. It always seems to be at 12 months.

It is really confusing. I am in the same boat. We had our lottery at the 16 month mark (Dec. 21) and we got out requested day and time. But now we are just in another holding pattern until the year mark....at least from what I can tell. I talked to my consultant last week and he said we would do the room block sometime in the next couple of weeks. I really don't think the LOA comes until the year mark even though the booking dates have changed.

Like Sambycat said, there isn't a lot of concrete planning that happens at this point besides picking venues and hotels. That said, if you have a question ask your sales consultant. It might take up to a week, but mine has been great about answering what he can.

And no one else can book your date, even if the LOA hasn't been signed yet, so don't worry about that!

Hmmm, now I am confused, because when we were in the process of getting our date held it was during that time period when they switched from the 12 to 16 month thing. I got to sign my LOA before the 12 month mark. When my coordinator told me they had changed it I said let's get everything booked and she sent me the LOA the very next day, which was about 13 months out. Soooo, that's why I am confused that they are making you wait 12 months to sign everything. Maybe they changed it since then because that was back in June/July. :confused3

I am getting married on april 21, 2012 and when I talked to my consultant when I went for my site visit the end of December he kept saying that we would start the room block and LOA in march/april. When I got home he said April so I pushed and he said that we could start in march. I think it might be that they can do things a little earlier than the 12 month mark but that they try to avoid it because I had to push kindof hard to get him to say we could continue in march instead of april. Until then I would just work on other things like getting officients and ideas for decorations :yay:

ours was very very very by the book, on the line. i kept saying "but we want to give you money!!!".... :rotfl:

that said, i know i got a little nutsy when i read about other folks moving even remotely faster than we were! of course they changed to the 16 month deal after we were well into the planning stage....:scared1:

but honestly, hang in there! if they tell you you are "pencilled in", you are!

ah, there is one part of the pre-wedding phase i do not miss - the waiting! eek!!!!

believe it or not, one day you will think "gosh, that kinda went by quick"!

Hi Ladies!

I was just reading through all of your responses above and just wanted to see if I understood right since we hit our 1 yr mark next month :goodvibes Depending on your consultant, some couples were able to start working on their room block BEFORE the 1 yr mark? Or is this something that you are able to get info on/start no matter who you're working with? Thanks!

We started working on the room block before the 1 yr mark because the room block thing is in your LOA. So I would assume that all consultants should have you working on this asap.
