When does the KTTK tour *really* end? Tips, anybody?

I've decided on taking this tour on our upcoming trip. Now I just have to schedule it!

From everything I've gathered here on the DIS and in other locations, the KTTK tour is scheduled to go 5 hours, but sometimes goes longer. So when should I plan on actually being done?

I'm trying to figure out if I want to do it on the day we have 6 pm tickets to Cirque du Soleil. (We also have 3:45 reservations at Wolfgang Puck's.) Would that be cutting it too thin, do you think?

I was hoping to do the earliest tour possible (8:30) so that I can get into MK before the park opens. Obviously, this would be on a non-EMH morning.

Is there any other advantage to taking one tour time instead of another? I'd like to see the afternoon parade as part of the tour, but I guess they don't really do that anymore.

So . . . if you've taken the KTTK tour recently, when did you actually start and end your tour? Any advice on which time slot I should take? Any other tips?

I did this tour Memorial weekend and it was great! Most of the info I already knew but it was still a great time.

I got to City Hall in the MK by 8:15 for an 8:30 tour. The tour finished in less than 5 hours because I was at EPCOT by 2:00.

Hey we did KTTK last Saturday - how's that for recent!?!

We did the 8:30 tour and finished just after 1:30. Matthew was our tour guide & he was excellent! I booked the early tour to get into MK early - I love being there before opening - it feels like you are "sneaking" in! So, we actually got there about 8:05 and they let us in with the Breafasters and we just kinda hung out around Main Street & got some neat pictures! I kept my camera in the fanny pack during the tour - but there were a couple times where I was REALLY tempted to pull it out for a quick picture!
