When does the International Gateway open?

We are planning on staying at one of the boardwalk resorts for our next trip. My question to everyone is............
How early can you walk thru the International Gateway into EPCOT. If oWorld Showcase doesn't officially open until 11am can you walk thru to Future World at 9am or even 8am on EMH days??

the Gateway opens the same time the front gate opens (so 9am normally and 8am on EMH days)

Access to WS is just roped off and there are CMs along the way around the UK and Canada pavillion to point you in the direction of Future World.

We love the International Gateway to WS--it's so great to be able to walk over at night and walk through the countries. Just to add a comment...if you have a car AND you are just planning on hitting FW for a while, we have driven. I know that sounds crazy, but it is a long walk over and back and by the end of the trip, our feet are killing us. That way, we save our walking stamina for later in the day. We do walk if we are planning on hitting both FW & WS or just WS. Every little bit helps when you are doing the world!
