When does the Hilton Head season actually start

Hi Everyone, When do all the activities open up for the season at Disney's Hilton Head Resort? Besides golf, are all the beach, pool, camps, Dolphin, fishing and children's activities open before Memorial Day? We are thinking of going the week before Memorial Day 2009 and are hoping it won't be as crowded as the middle of the summer, but that all the activities will be open. Thanks!

For 4 years in a row we went to HHI the first full week of May (up until 2007) and it was PERFECT! We went in July as well in 2006 and it was PACKED. We absolutely love the Island and everything about it! May is perfect, the ocean is warm enough to swim/ride the waves, the beach and "shelling" is awesome, the tours, putt putt places, golf courses, pools, ect... are all open, the only things we noticed that were not were some childrens activities. We took fishing excursions, boat trips, and dolphin tours while there in early May!

Activities are all year - we were there in January and there were plenty of kid's activities.

BUT - the ocean/beach is COLD until May-June-ish

So the pool with the slide was open? If so, was it heated? I wish they would just post an event schedule so people could plan better. Thanks for the replies!!

We've gone twice - in January and April. Pool and slide were open. Could not brave it in January.

In April the pool was heated-ish.
It was not like ice - but it was not bathwater-warm either. We had weather in the upper 80's and mid-day I could venture in (I'm a wimp). My kids wanted to be in it all the time!

We went last year April school break week. 3rd week I think. I would go again that time. It was warm, great for the beach!! Also, saw alot of dolphins at the beach. And the best thing we did on the trip was take a kayak trip through the river that runs through the middle of the island. Dolphins chased fish up the river and jumped within feet of us. A whole school of them. My kids still talk about it.
