Hi everyone, :)

It will be our first trip to Disneyland Florida and before we book we would like to makesure we choose a good time to go.
We were thinking about 23rd April 2010 for 2 weeks, however i am not sure when the Easter School Holidays/Spring Break starts in Florida.
We prefer to go when all the kids are at school so the parks will not be busy.
Thank you for your help everyone :thumbsup2

Having just spoken with my American office buddy (remember Aaron :thumbsup2?) he tells me the following.

Spring Breaktime in the US differs not only from state to state but also from school to school. The general window is March/April but most of the resorts and beaches have had an arrangement in place with the educational facilities for a while now, to ensure that they do stagger when the breaks occur and the resorts don't suffer from an influx of teenagers all at the same time.
This has the double advantage of keeping the crowds at a tolerable level and also ensuring the proprietors can spread their business over a longer period.

We have been in March and April and you do notice the spring breakers as they tend to go around in groups - and in matching t-shirts - but I wouldn't say it made the parks any busier than normal.

We have never been at Easter but I remember hearing that this is a particularly busy time and should be avoided. I have no direct experience to be able to confirm this though.

Hope this helps.

Hi, we have been pricing April, and I have noticed a huge drop in flights and hotel prices after 18th April (Easter is quite early next year) I'm hoping by about that time most of Spring breakers will have gone and the prices seem a bit cheaper :cool1:

Spring break in the US runs from mid february to usually the week after Easter. Different areas have different times.

Early may is a quieter time for Walt Disney World.

Thanks soooo much everyone, you are all so very helpful
I am sooooooooooooo excited, trip planning is so much fun and i LOVED planning for Disneyland Paris last year so i can only imagine how fun its going to be planning for WDW :yay: :yay:

I also noticed a price drop when pricing up. We are planning to go from April 23rd for 14days, Staying in a Villa in Kissimmee which includes car hire. As the 23rd falls on a weekend we might tour around Florida for the weekend and hit the parks on the Monday.
So due to the price drop i was guessing that it might not be a busy time. Im hoping it wont be too busy.

Just to let you all know our story...
we have originally booked an adult only holiday with me and my husband going with Sister in-law and her husband going to Mexico Canucn for 1 week.
But due to family problems, mother in-law can not look after my daughter who will be 4yrs old at time of travel and Sister in-Laws Son who will be 12 at time of travel, so we added kids on the holiday booking.
So we priced up Florida instead and it works out £1000 cheaper per family to go to Florida for 2 weeks instead of Mexico for 1 week.
(However Mexico is all inclusive)

Hey Sara :wave2:

Shame you're no longer going to Mexico but the good news is you're now going to WDW!!! :yay:

Happy planning! :wizard:
