When does Small World shut down for Christmas overlay?

We are going the second week of October and I really want to ride Small World.

Just after Halloween, I believe. Others will be exact, but I can tell you for sure it won't happen during your trip!

You will most likely be ok with second week of October. They shut it down and start the overlay definitely before Halloween though. Last year was October 20 - November 6.
